way that Amend.org maximizes the amount of funding that
goes directly to our programs is by working with talented
people who care enough to volunteer their time. Amend.org
was started by volunteers, and could not exist without
them.
Many nonprofits—especially those that work abroad—find
that training and supervising volunteers can consume more
resources than they free up. Since Amend.org has only a
tiny staff, and time is scarce, and we need creative, self-starting
volunteers who can take on a project and see it to completion
with minimal supervision.
One general rule to follow: whatever you do best professionally,
that's probably what you can do to make the biggest contribution
to Amend.org.
